What is free, and what is not
The demos are genuinely free and there is no email gate — but they are short. A demo is a couple of minutes so you can see the item format and the pace, which is the part that catches people out. Full-length timed runs matching each battery's published section counts and time limits are the paid side.

Use your employer's material too
Utilities that use EEI batteries normally give candidates access to EEI's own brochures and practice area with the invitation, and that material comes from the test developer rather than from anyone selling preparation. Use it. Hawaiian Electric pairs its access instructions with a caveat worth repeating: being prepared "may improve your chances of qualifying on the test. However, there is no guarantee that by reading the brochures and the test preparation guides you will qualify."

- Is there a free EEI practice test?
- Yes. Every section used by the CAST, CAST-R, POSS and MASS batteries has a free demo on this site, with no account, no email address and no card required. The demos are shorter than a full timed run, which is the difference between free and paid access.
- Does EEI provide free practice material?
- EEI publishes test brochures and a candidate practice area, and employers that use its batteries normally give candidates access with their invitation. That material comes from the test developer and is worth using. This site is independent of it.
- Do I need to sign up?
- No. The demos run immediately in the browser. An account is only created if you buy full access.
- Which sections should I practise?
- It depends which battery you are sitting, because they do not share all their sections. CAST uses graphic arithmetic, mechanical concepts, reading and math usage; POSS swaps graphic arithmetic for figural reasoning; MASS uses assembling objects. - What score do I need to pass?
- No employer publishes a cut score for any EEI battery, and no pass rate exists, so we do not state one. Thresholds are set locally by each utility and generally not disclosed.
- What do I get if I pay?
